Activision Blizzard, along with Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros., make known the name of the director who will film of WarCraft, which now are spoken for some time. The director is Sam Raimi, a veteran of Hollywood who has created successful films such as The Army of Darkness, La Casa (The Evil Dead), the three movies of Spider-Man, dirty money.

Put in charge of the film as a director of WarCraft popular makes an interesting project from the point of view of art, as well as from the commercial. Raimi will work with the producer Charles Roven, another veteran of Hollywood, among others, worked on Batman: The Dark Knight, and Chris Metzen, vice president of development for Blizzard, who will take care of the script.

The film co-produced by Legendary Pictures (300, Superman Returns, Batman: The Dark Knight) and Warner Bros. are involved in the Alex Gartner of Atlas Entertainment, Thomas Tull and Jon Jashne for Legendary Pictures, and artistic partner Raimi, Robert Tapert and Joshua Donen.

“Blizzard Entertainment and Legendary Pictures have clear ideas on the WarCraft movie and have chosen the best director possible to put these ideas into practice,” said Paul Sams, Blizzard COO. “Right from the first chat with Sam, we realized that it was the best choice because he knows what is expected of the public.”

At the moment we have no details on the rest of the cast and to the possible theatrical release of WarCraft, which however will be unlikely before 2011.

The spokesman said that Blizzard have so Warcraft 4 would be divided into three chapters as StarCraft 2, so as to streamline the practice of release. At this point it is no longer a rumor but it is an official notice. Warcraft 4 is already in production at the studios Blizzard! Was not that much and expect, of course, other official reports that may reveal a few more details.

“Warcraft 4 is a project of which we speak regularly. Even though we here at Blizzard are very happy to develop it, yet we must deal with Starcraft II. This is a very large amount of work now that we have announced two expansions that will come after the release of the main game. We definitely committed for several years with Starcraft II, complete Brack’s interview with AusGamers.

Brack added that the time has not been decided whether the hypothetical Warcraft 4 could be developed by the team that has worked on the predecessor and who is working on Starcraft II, but says that does not make sense to entrust it to a different team, even if this means a speeding up of work.
